Gus’s Fried Chicken
3,700 Square-Foot Restaurant/Tenant Adaptive Re-Use Renovation
>> Gus’s Fried Chicken was an adaptive re-use project for a historic building on Houston’s Washington Ave. The restaurant conversion involved rehabilitating the shell structure from within to maintain set-backs, and a full kitchen and customer dining area build-out. As part of Houston’s urban renewal explosion, we enjoyed working with both the franchisee and the Corporate team from Gus’ to ensure that the finished product had all the right touches. The restaurant space calls back to its original Memphis location, including a crystal chandelier and a dedicated chicken battering room (with limited access to safeguard the secret recipe). Both the client and our contracting team were very pleased with the final product. <<
